“Ignite” captures the imagination of Junior Highs

Laying the Groundwork for Disciples of Jesus

A church without young people who are engaged in its mission is an incomplete one. We believe that Junior High is a watershed time for teenagers, a time when they will make decisions that will set a trajectory for years to come. With this in mind, Ignite, our junior high ministry, aims to capture the attention and imagination of students and to help them lay the groundwork of a committed disciple of Jesus. We do this through an energetic time together our Ignite evenings and through smaller discipleship groups (D-Groups). Come and see!

Cambridge – Weekly student ministry programing, which alternates between large group nights and D-group nights, is on Wednesdays at Forward Church Cambridge.   Ignite (Grades 6-8) meet from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Radiate (Grades 9-12) meet from 7:00pm – 9:00pm.  Contact Andrew.

Kitchener – Weekly Tuesday night programing begins at 7:00pm. The schedule alternates between an event at our facility at 600 Doon Village Road and D-Group meetings in leaders’ homes (contact Will to ask which one is happening this week). In Kitchener, Ignite and Radiate meet together at the same times. We welcome anyone from grades 6 – 12!

Senior High students connecting together in meaningful worship and service at “Radiate”

Deep, Durable Relationships

Youth in our world are more eager than ever to find places where they can belong.  We believe everyone is created for relationship; that’s why we designed our high school ministry, Radiate, to be about relationships. We want students to connect together in meaningful worship and service; we want them to develop deep, durable relationships with older Christians on our Wednesday nights and in our discipleship groups (D-Groups.) We believe these relationships have the potential to yield eternal dividends. Come, connect and know you belong!

Junior High students Serving the World through “Timothy Teamers”

Raising the Bar by Serving

Timothy Teamers is a unique ministry created with the conviction that Christians are never too young to serve the church. Timothy Teamers is a three-year program built specifically for junior high students that will raise the bar on their level of discipleship through group study and regular service throughout the church. If you are hungry for more, this is where you’ll find it!

Young adults in small group and large group community

Sharing Life and Growing Together to new levels of commitment

Connection and community are essential parts of Christian community, and life in general! We want to make sure that our young adults find that depth of relationship here at Forward. Eikon (our young adults ministry), is built around a number of Life Groups that meet regularly in homes. These groups share life, meals, and God’s word, and together grow to new levels of commitment to following Jesus.

We also gather periodically to celebrate, worship, and serve together in as a group. These events remind us that, while so much of Christian discipleship happens in small communities, we are all part of a larger group of people serving Jesus and working to bring His Kingdom to earth.  Check our our Facebook page, to see upcoming events – both Kitchener and Cambridge people welcome!

Contact Kevin as your first connection to Eikon.

Lighthouse Project is the church of Jesus operating outside the walls of the church building, partnering with schools and neighbourhood associations.

MENTORS ON MISSION

We are seeing God present us with opportunities to connect with our local communities, by serving outside of our walls to create tangible partnerships with local agencies, schools and neighbourhood associations!  Through “The Lighthouse Project”, we would love to develop and equip chosen young adult “mentors” to live on mission, by developing relationships and introducing students to Jesus, during a one-year-long internship.  In return, our mentors will be given housing accommodations, financial flexibility and intentional discipleship coaching/resourcing, as they live together, serve and connect with their community.  For more information or to apply, visit our Facebook page, below.
