As the people of Israel depart Egypt, God leads them day and night in the form of a pillar of cloud and pillar of fire. When God leads them, He does not lead them by the most direct route, instead He leads them on the route they need to take. What does it look like for us as God’s people to allow Him to lead us and to trust both the timing and the direction of His leading, even if it may not make sense to us in the moment?
Just like the Israelites, we too live in a world filled with hardships and injustice, In the midst of the difficulties of this world, Exodus 2:25 is an incredibly encouraging verse: “God saw the people of Israel – and God knew.” In fact, not only does God both see and know His people, He also makes himself known to His people and He promises to act on their behalf.
