We’re addressing several areas that have needed attention for some time:
Water has been coming into the building in multiple locations and needs to be resolved. Our entrances and washrooms need updating to create a more welcoming first impression for members and guests alike. The Children’s Ministry area needs safety improvements. And a number of maintenance items — HVAC units, audio/video equipment, roofing, carpets, and flooring — are ready for replacement. We’ve been working on this project since 2022. We’re planning to begin the most significant work in the summer of 2027.
The projected cost is $6,425,000.
We plan to sell up to four acres of land at the back of our Forward Cambridge property. The proceeds from that sale will cover project costs and provide seed money for future renovations and deferred maintenance.
Given current market conditions, we’re planning to list the land in 2027, with funds expected 12 or more months after the sale. To bridge the gap between construction and the land sale, we’re securing a $4 million bridge loan at 2.5% interest. That leaves $1.8 million we’re looking to raise from within our church family.
We’re inviting people who call Forward Church home to loan money to the church through a Promissory Note — a simple, legally documented agreement. We will repay your loan when the land sells. Our goal is to raise $1.8 million this way.
During the week of September 20–27, we’ll ask people to pledge what they’re able to loan. This helps us plan confidently for the 2027 work. We’ll follow up with each pledge to walk through the Promissory Note details, with funds welcomed any time in 2027.
