As the people of God continue their Exodus from the land of Egypt to the land of promise, they find themselves between a rock and hard spot, or in this case an army and a sea. Pharoah once again has gone back on his word and has not sent out his army to pursue the people of Israel. But in the midst of a seemingly impossible situation, God shows himself as the mighty Saviour and makes a way when there is no way. What a great encouragement it is to know that when we follow God, no matter how grim the circumstances look, we serve a God who can make a way where there is no way. Most importantly through the person of Jesus, God has made a way where there was no way and made possible our salvation.
