The Passover (Exodus 12:1-32)

God pronounces the final and most devastating plague on Egypt. The firstborn of every man and beast would die except in those houses that had been marked with the blood of a spotless lamb. It was the blood of the lamb that saved God’s people from death and rescued them from slavery. Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of the Passover lamb, the perfect sacrifice that died once for all to save us from death and to free us from slavery to sin. As we prepare for Easter we reflect on our need for a greater lamb and a greater work of God’s salvation then the Passover.
